The event is sponsored by Progressiv Judendom i Stockholm
Guided by 5 Rhythms teacher Adam Eisen, we will move and reconnect body, heart, mind and soul, helping us become more present and open to the arrival of Shabbat. Drawing upon the body’s wisdom, the 5 Rhythms moving meditation offers an embodied way to integrate our week and deepen our spiritual connection to ourselves and others.
The 5 Rhythms® are a simple, dynamic movement meditation that releases the dancing soul that lives within each of us. No previous experience of dance or 5 Rhythms is necessary, and everyone can participate regardless of physicality. There are no special steps to learn, and you can follow your own pace and movement. The 5 Rhythms – flowing, staccato, chaos, lyrical and stillness – are different movement qualities that together build a wave of energy and presence. The method was developed by Gabrielle Roth and more information is available at www.5rhythms.com
The class will begin with a short warmup and introduction, followed by a guided wave, supported by music including Jewish and Middle Eastern beats as well as meditational melodies. The class is led by Adam Eisen, a certified 5 Rhythms teacher who has danced the 5 Rhythms since 2013. https://www.facebook.com/5Rhythms-with-Susanne-and-Adam-149398265657966= . If you wish, you have the opportunity following the event (after a short pause) to join the musical Kabbalat Shabbat held by PJS Sukkat Shalom.
