Workshop: Our Symbolic Gestures II with Darya Efrat
This workshop is a continuation and elaboration on “Our Symbolic Gestures I”, and will focus on movement arising from and within the body. Employing a variety of modalities, with a focus on the Jewish tradition, we will open up a space for conversation surrounding somatic and religious practices and their relevance and impact on our communal and individual lives. The session will have an emphasis on movement- so please come in comfortable clothing.
*Please bear in mind, participants are recommended to remove their shoes for the duration of the workshop.
The workshop is facilitated by Darya Efrat:
Darya Efrat is an interdisciplinary performer experimenting with the fusion of visual arts, dance, contemporary circus, and public installation. Originally from Jerusalem, Efrat graduated with honors from Columbia University in New York with a BA in visual arts and anthropology and is currently pursuing her Masters in New Performative Practices at the Stockholm University of the Arts. Her works were presented and performed in Croatia, Israel, Portugal, Sweden and the US. www.daryaefrat.com.
